Background
The word 'Twf' literally means 'growth' in Welsh. Twf has been established, to try and increase the number of children speaking Welsh in the home, by promoting the advantages of bilingualism in the mainstream work of midwives and health visitors; amongst parents; prospective parents and the public at large.
Solution
Twf has to engage visitors at all levels, so the website contains a great deal of interactivity, as well as content, so that everyone from children to teachers enjoy using the site.
Particular features include:
- A brightly coloured and fun design, incorporating flash animation, achieving a W3C WAI 'A' grade for web accessibility, so all audiences can access the website
- Interactive features for children include games, pictures gallery and story books
- Adults can access a range of publications and can discuss their experiences on a message board
